Common questions
What's the "Consolidation Log" vs "duplicates"?
We deliberately don't call it a duplicate log. Confract detects overlapping content — semantically similar items, not just identical text. Everything it consolidates is logged with a reason, and you can restore any item with one tap. Nothing is silently deleted.
Can I lose data?
No. Every merge creates a version snapshot first. The Consolidation Log preserves every item that was removed or merged. Version History lets you revert to any previous state. Your knowledge base is append-only by design.
How is this different from Notion AI or NotebookLM?
Notion AI generates content and helps you write. NotebookLM answers questions about documents you upload. Confract does neither — it takes multiple messy inputs and converges them into one clean, deduplicated master document. It's a consolidation engine, not a writing assistant or a Q&A tool.
Where is my data stored?
Currently, all documents are saved in your browser's local storage. They're private by default and never sent to Confract's servers. Future versions will add optional cloud sync with full account-based storage.
